She worked with me on the minor adjustments I requested but do yourself a favour and trust her to know what’s going to look best. Especially when it comes to her specializing in Trad style tats.

The shop was fun, other staff was inviting and helpful. Chelsea grabbed me water when mine ran out and music was playing the entire time. Everyone was hanging out and chatting and shouting out how great the work was coming.

The owner Scott was in for a bit and was easy to talk to about tattoos and the ethos of what they are all about at Matchbox.

One of the best tattoo experiences of my many. They are up to date on the most recent after care techniques and gave very good advice on how to help with the healing process.

It is a small space to be prepared for that. It’s in an awesome shipping container market downtown. You won’t find a better experience anywhere.”

I got my tattoo with Sunshine and I am very happy with all the process from beginning to end. She was very careful and patient. She helped me decide the best placement for my piece, came up with a few different designs and angles for the tattoo and did all this while making it clear that we had no rush.
She was careful to show me the expiry dates and seals on all the needles before beginning and in the end she walked me through the after care in detail. The employees working at New Tribe are beyond friendly, they make you feel comfortable and safe, and the atmosphere there just completely removes all anxiety and stress from your body. Fae, who was my piercer did an outstanding job. First off, she was SO SWEET AND KIND, she comforted me before getting my ear pierced and made small talk to keep me distracted from the needle. I’m getting a tattoo leg half sleeve and requested Khan as my artist. The admin staff was able to book all three of my sessions well in advance and replied to my emails quickly whenever I had a question.

If you’re lucky to get Khan as your tattoo artist, you’ll be getting an absolutely fantastic tattoo and tattoo experience! My first session was 8 hours. He does his work up in a private loft. He provided me with food, drinks, and a private bathroom (I should note you get some of these even if you work with the artists downstairs). The tattoo was of course painful but he communicated with me consistently and allowed me to take breaks when needed. He’s a great listener and a phenomenal artist!”

I’ve had the idea for this piece for years now, and Jeff has breathed life into it more completely than I could possibly have imagined. I had specific jewelry pieces in mind, which they had and they are so beautiful! I was pleasantly surprised how little pain I felt when she pierced me (flat piercing and lobe.) I also came in with a swollen helix piercing that I had pierced at another establishment, she changed the jewellery for me and gave me good advice on how to reduce the swelling. “Ngl I went in with 0 expectations and lowekey scared because of all the negative reviews.. however, I ended up getting 3 piercings. I walked in and there were 3 dudes chillen in the front. All 3 were extremely friendly and were vibin. They’re also taking extra precautions because of Corona virus by checking your temp and asking you to wear a mask. I then had to sign a form. After that I was taken to the back by the female piercer she sterilized all the equipment in front of me and marked roughly where she would pierce my ears with a black marker. I gave her the go and she pierced my ears. She did a really great job and I didn’t really feel any pain. It’s like $20 for one piercing which is really good deal. Most of the people that are dropping negative reviews are high-key salty. Its not the piercers fault your ears got infected because you didn’t take proper care of it shordie. It’s also not the piercers job to be your best friend.. Yeah so to summarize everything, Price is really good, atmosphere and vibe is also amazing, piercer is really good at what she does, dudes in the front are friendly, and yeah a lot of people are cappin.. this place is pre lit and awesome if you’re ballin on a budget and want to get piercings. I would def come back fs.”

“$20 Saturday piercings. Not very fancy and for someone who would ask a lot of questions / or for their first piercing. I showed up at 12:30. 5 minutes later, I was in the chair, took maybe 1-2 minutes for my 3 piercings and I was out of there. No pain, very quick.

They use surgical steel but not titanium, however.
Also an old man resident sharing one of the seats.”
