“Tried the butter chicken roti and vegetable samosa. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food. Roti is super fresh, flavour of the butter chicken was amazing. A lot of chicken filling. You can choose your spice level.
They gave us cold tap water as well as some sort of fruit cup dessert with mango or pineapple puree? Not sure what it was but it was a nice surprise and very delicious. I wasn’t expecting the service at all. I highly recommend eating here.”

“Very tasty Roti, I got butter chicken spicy with extra potato and it was very delicious, I have not tried many Roti places but this was very good and when they say spicy they mean it. It was overall a good place and the roti is wrapped around the butter chicken so it stays warm longer and kept it soft. It’s kinda pricy but it’s good every now and then.”

Mind blowing flavours and everything just cooked to perfection. Do try out the Tandoori Momo’s that’s a standout on the menu and definitely worth trying. “We had an absolutely amazing experience here! We went during their dinner rush with six people and no reservation -and they were super accommodating. They advised they didn’t have a table yet but gave an accurate wait time (15min) and suggested we wait at the bar. The bartender was super kind and helpful as we chose beers and wines while we waited (try their house brew!).
Once seated we were quickly waited on by stellar staff. The food was absolutely amazing; it was sad when we were finally full and couldn’t order more!
Wonderful ambiance, great service -even while we waited. We are already planning on next visit -this time we’ll call ahead for a reso!”

“My favourite restaurant and definitely worth the drive from Woodbridge!! Food and service never disappoint. Everything I have tried is excellent but Butter Chicken is my absolute favourite. Naan bread is delicous. We always get take out before we leave for next day and food tastes just as good. We have yet to bring family or friends that don’t love it as much as us.”

YES, you’ve heard it right and if you still don’t believe me? Swipe to the pictures and see how I got spoilt with a scrumptious treat from @indiandesireca.
Indian Desire is a new restaurant located in downtown Toronto offering artistic takes on traditional, authentic Indian dishes. Their food is best paired with some delicious cocktails or an assortment of wines and beers.
and this is what I tried:
* Delhi Style Tandoori Chicken
The traditional tandoori chicken comes in a pomegranate and leaf salad. It is served with Mint and Coriander Chutney.
* Corn Kurkure
Crispy baby corn tossed with assorted pepper and, chillies.
* Marwari Bhindi
The Starry-eyed okra is cooked together with onion & tomato, topped with black & white sesame.
* Chicken Tikka Masala
Broiled Chicken teams up with tikka masala and marinated in yogurt in a creamy, spice-infused tomato sauce.
* Za’atar Naan
Za’atar is a Middle Eastern spice made from a blend of sesame seeds, thyme, salt and dried sumac. The naan is soft in the middle, crunchy around the edges.
* Gulab Jamun
It was stuffed with gulkand (rose petals and honey) filling was so authentic that it reminded me of the ones I had back in India.
Thank you for being a wonderful host @indiandesireca and bringing back all the nostalgic memories from India.

“Short and sweet… I can’t remember the last time I walked away from a restaurant feeling as impressed as I did from Indian Desire!! If you want AMAZING food, the best service, beautiful atmosphere… and cool tech (yes I said cool tech), then this is the place for you!!! From the time we walked in the door, the staff were very attentive to us. I truly appreciate the staff explaining all of the items on the menu, and recommending some amazing dishes and deserts!!! There is a new robot that brings the food to your table… it’s too cute! (Looks like a cat… that blinks and talks to you lol). But for those of you who thinks this is taking jobs away, this is not the case, as the wait staff still deliver the food from the robot to your table. This was just an all around fantastic experience, and we will be back!!! 😋”

As an Indian, this is definitely a unique twist on authentic flavours. Customer service is an added bonus with smiling faces and friendly staff. Wishing this restaurant a hearty success and future.
P.S: One of the few places who doesn’t make butter chicken all sweet and tangy. Love the spice!”

“The staff at the restaurant was so friendly and hospitable!
We ordered Bombay Sandwich and Vegetable Biryani! Both the dishes were impeccable! They were authentic and super delicious. Portion size for the biryani was super generous.
Can’t wait to go again and try out more things from their menu.”
Fatema Mansa
“Me and my friend, both originally from Mumbai checked this place out and gave it a thumbs up 👍 🤭
The food was flavourful, and tasted just like home. The Misal pav was delicious. We got goat curry and rice and it was also delicious, a little too spicy for me because I’m a Canadian Maharashtrian. But the flavors in the food are authentic.
The decor and ambience are great. Being able to pick out the mumbai spots on their wall paintings was fun! Also being able to speak to the servers in Marathi was a great treat. The servers were friendly and personable.
My actual rating is a 4.5 because I was really disappointed in the mango bite drink. That was the most expensive mango bite candy i bought 🥲 the drink itself wasn’t good.
I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone, if you’re not actually a mumbaikar maybe request an adjustment to the spice level.”

“They claim to be the best in town and guess what? They are right! Absolutely in love with this restaurant. The moment you enter, you know it’s different. The aroma and atmosphere is super welcoming. I can’t remember the lady’s name that served us but she was an absolute sweetheart. Treated us very respectfully and professionally. Kinda funny. Lots of love to her!
We’re two people and ordered their green meal. 2 vegetarian mains, 2 naans, basmati rice, starter and dessert all for just $45. The quantity was good enough. We couldn’t finish everything. The quality is just awesome and presentation is even better. The chef seems to be very passionate about cooking. Must try their daal makhani. Recommended to atleast 10 friends. Will be back soon and with more people.
PS. Super clean and calming washrooms.”

“Any time I am at Atrium, I always visit Chaska Express; I often joke that it’s a good thing I don’t work in Toronto because I would be there everyday! It’s fantastic to have a place like this in the downtown core, because so many of the other food kiosks can be found all over the city but Chaska is unique! Excellent, tasty food with great employees who are very patient and helpful; that’s not always so easy with the crush of hungry people who visit there on their lunch break! When relatives came up from States, I took them there to eat and they loved it! I consider myself a permanent customer!”

“Has exceeded expectations. Lots of unique flavors and combinations. The samosas are somehow perfectly crispy on the outside and savory inside, without tasting greasy. The samosas chatt can come as a side or a main and never disappoints. Cant go wrong with just about anything on the menu.
For a healthy option I recommend the mixed plate. The salads are also an option, but truly were a bit disappointing in comparison to other items on the menu.”

“After visiting Vaughn Mills mall we were super hungry, so we started looking at restaurant reviews and picked this place. Best decision we made as the ambience was good, decor looked amazing, staff was nice,friendly and helpful. We ordered two curry Paneer Tikka Masala and Chicken karahi both dish were yum, garlic naan and onion kulcha were soft and fresh cooked in tandoor. Even the portion size of onion salad surprised me, good portion size of food offered.What else can u ask for when all your tummy needs is food. We found small thread stuck in naan which could have been from the napkin used to place naan in tandoor, so we informed staff about the incidence and they apologized and made a new naan for us. On top of that they also gave dessert Ras Malai on the house. That was very sweet of you guys it was not needed but my husband enjoyed it. Thank you for giving us such nice service we were really happy and will definately be back”

You can tailor each order with their online form, add wine or beer, and has all kinds of dishes. I just ordered from them on Friday night and it was honestly one of the best they’ve ever made. How To Choose An Indian Restaurant
One of the numerous pleasures of residing in a multicultural country like Canada is the sheer abundance of international cuisine at our fingertips.
Among these culinary delights, Indian food, with its richly spiced and aromatic dishes, has claimed a place in many hearts.
With a plethora of Indian restaurants sprinkled throughout Toronto, it can be a challenge to select the one that will satisfy your cravings perfectly.
Here are some factors to consider when you’re hunting for the ideal Indian restaurant.
Authenticity
A significant factor to consider is the authenticity of the food. Indian cuisine is varied, with each region boasting its own distinct flavors and recipes.
Whether it’s the creamy and rich dishes of North India, the spicy flavors of South India, or the sweet and tangy specialties of East and West India, the restaurant you choose should capture the essence of these regional cuisines.
To assess this, you could check the restaurant’s menu online or consult reviews.
Chef’s Expertise
The chef’s experience and training play a pivotal role in the food’s quality and authenticity.
Ideally, the chef should be well-versed in Indian cooking techniques and ingredients.
Some restaurants provide details about their chefs on their website; others you might need to ask.
Ingredient Quality
Indian cuisine heavily relies on the quality of its ingredients, whether it’s the spices that add that characteristic flavor or the freshness of vegetables and meats used.
It’s always a good sign when a restaurant uses locally sourced, fresh, and high-quality ingredients. You can often find this information on the restaurant’s website or by contacting them directly.
Ambiance
While the food is a major part of the experience, the restaurant’s ambiance also plays a significant role.
Indian culture is known for its vibrancy and warmth, and an authentic Indian restaurant will reflect this in its decor and ambiance. Look for restaurants that capture the Indian spirit without resorting to cliches.
Menu Variety
Given the vastness of Indian cuisine, a good Indian restaurant should offer a wide array of dishes. From tandoori items, curries, biryanis, and dosas to a range of vegetarian and vegan options.
A diverse menu shows the restaurant’s dedication to showcasing Indian cuisine in its entirety.
Reviews and Recommendations
Online reviews and personal recommendations can be invaluable when choosing an Indian restaurant. They provide insight into the experiences of others, helping you gauge factors such as service quality, food taste, and price.
Health and Safety
Health and safety is a non-negotiable factor for any dining experience. Check out the restaurant’s cleanliness policies, or try to observe the restaurant’s cleanliness if you visit.
Of course, personal taste and preference will always reign supreme, so take your time, explore, and let your palate be your guide to the incredible world of Indian cuisine!
